The Mattstock side is rated the better one, with views over the Walensee, varied descents and off-piste variants beside the main run. Visitors report that queues are essentially unknown and that the place works for families, with the nursery slope close by and the bus between the sectors included in the pass.

The split layout draws criticism: the two sectors are linked neither by lift nor by piste, the bus runs only once an hour, and there is no way around it. Many call Arvenbuel skippable - short red runs and, in practice, beginner terrain. Parking is a separate gripe: the lot nearest the lift is not signposted, so people end up walking. The lower slopes sit low and suffer in mild weather, with bare patches and sticky snow in spring.
