Test reports score Elm highly for snow reliability, grooming and parking. Visitors single out the view of the Martinsloch, the hole punched clean through the rock wall, the rustic huts, the toboggan run and the big children's area at Aempaechli.

Price is criticised first, with short reviews reaching for the phrase "arrogantly expensive" more often than any other complaint. The area stayed compact for a reason: plans to extend it with new chairlifts were refused by the authorities, so the run list has not changed in years, and the old T-bar at Aempaechli was taken out of service. Lodging at the valley station is scarce, so most people come for a day. Detailed reviews of Elm are hard to find at all.
