What visitors say about the resort
Terrain and an honest, old-school feel earn the praise. The mountain is treated as expert country: steeps, tight chutes and snow noticeably better than nearby. Tickets are cheap by Colorado standards, and the season is the longest in North America, running from October into June. Guests like the absence of polish and the easy-going crowd on the hill. Lift lines get good marks: even mid-winter the wait rarely exceeds ten or fifteen minutes.
Parking and weekend crowds are the standing complaints. The area sits close to Denver and is on the Ikon Pass, so Saturdays and Sundays get genuinely busy. On parking the advice is blunt: arrive early or there will be no space, and on weekends and holidays it is paid, around twenty dollars, with a reservation required. There is next to no infrastructure - no lodging, no village, no mobile coverage. Beginners also find the supply of gentle runs short.
