Gazprom Mountain Resort

Gazprom is Vladimir Putin's favourite ski resort. This may explain why you have to go through the same security checks found at airports before entering the valley gondola lift. The lift masts are protected by anti-terrorism barriers and equipped with cameras. The ski resort opened in 2006 and, reportedly, Putin himself ensured that Gazprom invested here. Gazprom Mountain Resort hosted cross-country skiing and biathlon events during the 2014 Winter Olympics. The stadium is on the Mountain Plateau at an altitude of approximately 1500 m. The Alpine pistes run through beautiful beech forests and are generally gentle. The resort is mainly visited by affluent families, as Gazprom is arguably the most exclusive ski resort in Russia.

Snowmaking: 50% of the pistes have snowmaking Valley run unavailable: Some piste maps appear to show a valley run. However, this is not the case. The routes shown are access roads, not pistes.

Longest piste

: E1-F5-F4 - Length 3.2 km. Vertical drop 526 m. Piste E1 leads to the piste that continues to F5. F4 branches off from F5 and takes you to the base station of Lift F.

Most difficult piste

: F2 / F1 - Length 1.1 km. Vertical drop 400 m. A fast north-eastern piste with a gradient of up to 50%.

Piste length: F5 approximately 1.8 km, making it the longest descent at the ski resort.

As the ski resort first opened in 2006, all lifts are equipped with the latest technology. You can ski all the pistes without having to use a slower lift or T-bar, which is very convenient. A feeder gondola lift carries guests from the valley to the ski slope.
