What visitors say about the resort
Mt. Cheget is a resort with a reputation, and the reviews confirm it: visitors come for the challenging terrain, powder and views of Elbrus, not the service. Experienced skiers write that nowhere else in Russia offers similar skiing - the pistes are almost never groomed, and the slope lives its own life.
That is exactly what it is also criticized for. Old chairlifts, a lack of trail marking, avalanche danger and the complete absence of resort infrastructure are common themes in reviews. Beginners, in the unanimous view, have no business here: they are sent to neighboring Elbrus. The café at "Ai" is also singled out and mentioned in reviews almost as often as the pistes themselves.
