The ski area rises from 1 301 to 2 902 m, with a 1 303 m vertical drop. This vertical drop allows you to ski from top to bottom without changing lifts and noticeably changes the conditions during the descent. The upper pistes are at high altitude, so the snow lasts longer than on the nearby lower slopes. The season usually runs from 19 December to 4 April.

What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for the emptiness: visitors report that lift queues are close to non-existent. They like the long, wide red runs, the careful grooming and the space beside the pistes for freeriding. The tunnel railway, built through an old water gallery, is the local curiosity almost every review mentions. Snow cover is reliable, and the Grossglockner panorama rescues even an average day.
What draws criticism is the awkward logistics. There is no car park at the valley station in Heiligenblut. From the Fleissalm you cannot ski back to the Rossbach mid-station - the tunnel railway is the only way, which forces a change. The Hochfleiss drag lift runs only in good weather, and recent comments say several lifts stay closed on weekdays. Cloud often settles on the upper slopes and kills visibility. The new lift operator gets complaints for leaving enquiries unanswered.
