Hochzeiger is a ski resort in the Tyrol region (Austria). Most of the skiing is on intermediate runs - a profile that suits most skiers.
Worth knowing
The ski area rises from 1,450 to 2,450 m, with a vertical drop of 1,000 m. This vertical drop allows skiers to descend from top to bottom without changing lifts and noticeably changes the conditions along the run. The season usually runs from 5 December to 10 April.

What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for the wide, sunny pistes and the grooming: reviewers mention tidy corduroy, clear signage and snow that altitude and snowmaking hold into late spring. The valley descent from the top restaurant is called one of the nicest around, broad and evenly pitched. Families rate the two children's parks and the ski school highly, and the bus network through the Pitztal gets good marks. Many say lift waits are close to non-existent.
What draws criticism is the narrow menu for strong skiers: the rolling groomers suit intermediates but advanced riders run out of ideas fast. The old two-seater chair is called slow and outdated, and in bad weather a queue piles up at the platter lift. Parents of toddlers complain the magic carpet is reserved for ski-school hours and that the kindergarten does not run at all on Sundays. Some report dismissive handling by management.
