Reviewers praise the wide reds and blues winding through spruce forest, terrain that suits any level. Outside the school holidays the slopes are practically empty, which is the main reason regulars keep coming back. Snow reliability is rated among the best in Germany. Price counts too: the pass is cheaper than Oberstdorf, it also covers Ofterschwang, and the ski bus is included. The area stays off the mass-tourism map and takes the surrounding nature park seriously.

Size is the main gripe: there are few runs and a strong skier will have covered the lot in a day. Apres-ski is judged close to non-existent. There are sharp reports about staff being rude at ticket desks and lifts. Organisation gets its own complaints - queues are poorly marked and turn into a scrum, information is scarce, and lift operating hours change unpredictably. The new parking arrangement also drew objections.
