Immenstadt - Mittagbahn

What people liked was the character: a rough-edged, unpolished mountain with surprising variety, fine summit views and a good mountain hut, plus cable car staff repeatedly described as helpful, especially towards families with children. For the money it was rated one of the better German hills. Today the mountain's main draw is the toboggan run of over five kilometres from the summit straight down into Immenstadt, winter walking trails and ski touring.

The criticism is that the ski area itself is gone. There is no alpine skiing with groomed pistes any more: the drag lifts have been dismantled, nothing is pisted, and the chairlifts now carry walkers, sledgers and ski tourers. Low altitude and the lack of snowmaking are the reason. Earlier complaints pointed elsewhere: only two lifts, waits at peak times and almost no easy runs.
