Balderschwang Ski Resort is located on a high plateau in the Allgäu Alps, on the slopes of Hochschelpen and Riedberger Horn. Balderschwang is well known for its excellent snow cover, which has earned it the nickname "Bavarian Siberia". Three chairlifts and several drag lifts provide access to slopes of all difficulty levels. The ski resort is suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced skiers. In addition to alpine skiing and snowboarding, the winter sports resort offers cross-country trails, winter hiking routes and toboggan runs for a complete winter holiday.
Balderschwang Ski Resort offers slopes of all difficulty levels. Difficult slopes lead down from Schelpen, while intermediate slopes run through forest clearings to the base. Easy slopes lead via Fuchsalm and past Bodenseehütte to the base. There are wide beginner slopes on the edge of Balderschwang. Riedberger Horn also has slopes of all difficulty levels, although its easy slopes are located only in the base area. The connections from the Gschwend lifts to the Schelpen lift and from Riedberger Horn are not very convenient. You have to cross the road each time.

At Balderschwang Ski Resort, the four-seat Schelpen chairlift provides access to almost all the slopes on the front side of Schelpen. Riedberger Horn can be reached by a double chairlift. Drag and surface lifts provide the connection between Schelpen and Riedberger Horn. Since the 2016/2017 season, a high-speed six-seat chairlift has provided access to Hochschelpen. The beginner area also has practice lifts.
