What visitors say about the resort
Le Grand Massif is praised for its size - around 265 kilometres - and for Les Cascades, France's longest green run: fourteen kilometres of gentle descent that beginners can ski on their own. Visitors highlight the views of Mont Blanc and the snow cover in the Flaine bowl.
Criticism focuses on Flaine's architecture - the 1960s concrete brutalism is not to everyone's taste - and on the villages at the bottom, which sit at 700 m and become slushy in spring. Visitors also complain about the wind, which can cause the links between sectors to close.
