Les Sybelles - Le Corbier/La Toussuire/Les Bottières/St Sorlin/St Jean d’Arves

The Les Sybelles ski resort is located in Maurienne (France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Savoie Mont Blanc, Savoie). It offers 275 km of terrain for skiing and snowboarding.

Les Sybelles mainly has high-speed lifts. The central lifts are also fast, allowing you to cross the huge area quickly. In Saint-Colomban and La Chal, chairlifts provide the most important transport links, and installing detachable lifts is already on the management's agenda. Connections between the resorts are found exclusively in the higher areas and usually use short surface lifts. In recent years, the lift inventory has been continuously upgraded, with additional detachable lifts planned for the future. Weather-protected chairlifts and gondolas are unfortunately absent here.

Good to know

A typical run in Les Sybelles is intermediate, wide and located entirely above the treeline. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule, and because of the ski resort's size, these exceptions still provide plenty of variety: wooded runs and relaxing pistes near Saint-Colomban or Saint-Sorlin, easy runs in the higher areas, and high-alpine routes below Les Perrons. There are also challenging runs distributed throughout the ski resort.

622 snow cannons provide snowmaking on 46% of the slopes The lowest base station is located at 1100 m in Saint-Colomban-de-Villards, where the season ends around two weeks earlier than at the higher stations. Many of the valleys run through pistes that turn back into slopes at the end.

Longest runs

• L'Ouillon - St Colomban. Length 7.8 km. Vertical drop 1290 m. Except for a short, not too steep section at the start (the Ouillon 1 and Col de Bellard runs), these are blue runs with a high concentration of pistes.
• Les Perrons - Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves. Length 6.1 km. Vertical drop 1120 m. Beautiful runs from the high alpine Les Perrons to the village of Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves. First follow Piste Col des Lacs, then pass through the Combe Balme valley and finally take the Choseaux cableway down to the valley.
• Grand Truc - Les Bottières. Length 4.7 km. Vertical drop 909 m. The longest runs from La Toussuire are intermediate and lead via the Grand Truc, Lauze and La Chavonnerie slopes down to the villages of La Bottière.

Most difficult runs

• JN Augert. Length 1.5 km. Vertical drop 585 m. Named after three-time world champion Jean-Noël Augert, this run leads from Pointe du Corbier into the valley between Le Corbier and La Toussuire.
• P. Ramuz. Length 0.4 km. Vertical drop 170 m. A short, brutal run on Ormette, the home mountain of Saint-Colomban-de-Villards

Run levels

• Vallons. This blue run on the back side of the ski resort, away from all the lifts, leads for three kilometres from the highest point to Chalet d'Olle below Col de la Croix de Fer.
• Granges This straightforward run on Balme above Saint-Sorlin is ideal for smooth turns.
• Aiguille A fast red run on the back side of L'Ouillon.
• Louis The red Grand Truc run follows the valley down to La Toussuire.
