What visitors say about the resort

Obertauern is praised for its snow reliability: the pass at 1740 m receives more precipitation than almost anywhere else in Austria, and the season reliably lasts until early May. Visitors note the convenience of the circular layout - you can ski around the entire area and return to your hotel.

It is criticised for the wind and lack of trees: in bad weather, visibility disappears completely and there is nowhere to shelter. The other drawback is the village itself, built up with hotels along the road, with no centre and little life beyond the après-ski scene.
