The praise is for something few places offer: you ski here looking out at the Adriatic, and nearly every review mentions that contrast. Visitors like the wide runs cut through dense beech forest and the generous natural snowfall, which holds well. Value is another recurring plus: it is cheap next to other Italian areas, parking is easy and queues are essentially absent. Pescara and Chieti are a short drive away.

Fragmentation draws the criticism: the two sectors are not linked on skis, so you transfer by skibus or snow taxi, and three separate operators sell three separate passes, together costing no less than the Dolomites. The hardware is called decrepit: the drag lift takes about ten minutes and loads one at a time, so a line builds. Pistes are often ungroomed or chewed up by machinery, and runs 11 and 12 reportedly exist only on the map. Signage is poor.
