Pfelders (Moos in Passeier)

Snow is the strong suit: a north-facing aspect and decent altitude hold the cover, snowmaking reaches the whole area, and the grooming is described as faultless. The car-free village is restful with children, and beginners get a kids' park plus practice slopes at the Gampen and Zeppichl lifts. Higher up there are proper red and black descents with almost nobody on them, the pass costs noticeably less than at the neighbours, and the staff are praised for friendliness.

Scale is the limitation: there are few lifts and the variety runs out fast. The terrain leans towards red and black, so an average skier soon runs short of choice, and anyone after a big linked area should look elsewhere. The approach is a long series of hairpins climbing to around fifteen hundred metres, unwelcome in a snowfall. Apres-ski amounts to a couple of places by the lifts, and there is no terrain park.
