The praise is for quiet and family comfort: next to the big Stubai areas there is hardly anyone here, and the slopes are wide, well groomed and gentle enough to put children on skis without stress. Reviewers note the mix of wooded and open sunny sections and above all the views of the Stubai and Zillertal Alps and the Karwendel. The natural toboggan runs are the local pride, the long Mieders one carrying a Tyrolean quality seal.
The tiny scale draws criticism: the skiing is used up in half a day, there is nothing difficult at all, and experienced skiers have no reason to come, heading to the glacier or the other valley areas instead. Elevations are low, snowfall averages less than at neighbouring areas, and the season logs fewer sunny days than the Tyrolean norm, so cover depends heavily on the weather. Everything hangs on a single cableway, with no backup way up.
