What visitors say about the resort

The praise is for the snow and the steeps: around five hundred inches of dry Utah powder a season, with chutes, bowls and trees that strong skiers rate among the best in the country. A landmark in itself is the 125-person tram, which climbs nearly nine hundred metres of vertical in seven minutes. Salt Lake City is under half an hour away, the airport forty minutes.

Crowds draw the criticism: on a powder day the whole of Salt Lake City turns up, and getting fresh tracks means jostling at both ends of the tram; since the resort joined the Ikon pass the lines have grown noticeably and the canyon road jams. Beginners and weak intermediates are uncomfortable here, with steep slopes and narrow cat-track links. Lodging on the mountain is expensive.
