Veduchi is being built in the Itum-Kali district of Chechnya, and so far only the southern Daneduk slope is developed: two lifts and a little over a kilometre of easy runs. The northern side, where harder terrain is planned, is left to later phases. A distinctive feature is the artificial matting slope, 1,130 metres long and the longest in the world, skied through the summer once the snow is gone.

What visitors say about the resort
The chairlift and the views over the ridge get the praise: reviewers describe the complex as entry level but genuinely well built. Polite staff at the lift station and the hotel, a day pass that is cheap by Russian standards and a separate nursery slope with its own drag lift are all mentioned favourably. Many like that it works in summer too, and that it opened mountain Chechnya to tourists.
The skiing itself is where the complaints begin: there is one run, and it is narrow and short. The practice area is steep with a drop beyond it, so small children are best left at home. The slope can be bare even in late January, and then descents are made on artificial matting, which tears chunks out of ski and board bases, rental gear included. The promised modern access road was never finished and part of the trip runs on dirt. Dirty toilets and nothing to do off the slope come up repeatedly.
