Arosa and Lenzerheide sit in neighbouring Graubünden valleys and were separate resorts until 2013, when the Urdenbahn cable car was strung across the Urden pass to join them. Arosa lies in a dead-end pocket reached by a narrow-gauge railway with seventeen viaducts from Chur, and in the early twentieth century people came not to ski but to be treated for tuberculosis. Lenzerheide faces south and is noticeably sunnier. The high point is the Weisshorn at 2,653 m, from which the longest run drops back into Arosa.
