Big White rises sixty kilometres from Kelowna above Okanagan Lake, and around seven and a half metres of snow falls here in a winter - dry and light, as it only is far from the ocean. Freezing fog coats the spruce, producing the "snow ghosts" that populate the slopes, trees encased entirely in ice, which people ski between. The village sits on the mountain itself, and you can ski out of almost every building. The terrain is mostly intermediate, though steep tree runs drop off the back of the summit.
