SilverStar rises above Vernon in the interior of British Columbia, and its village was built in imitation of a nineteenth-century mining town - brightly painted Victorian fronts and board sidewalks, set right on the hill so you can ski to the hotel doors. The front face is gentle and easy; behind the ridge, at Putnam Creek, it turns into something else entirely, steep trees and chutes. The interior climate delivers dry, light snow without coastal weight. The Nordic network is among the largest in Canada, with over a hundred kilometres of groomed track.

What visitors say about the resort
SilverStar is praised for its colourful mining-town-style village and cross-country trails - one of the best networks in Canada. Visitors also like the dry snow, short lift queues and slope-side accommodation.
Criticism focuses on its size: the ski area is smaller than neighbouring resorts, and confident skiers can cover it in three days. The second issue is that the north side of the mountain is cold and often shaded. Visitors also complain about the road from Vernon during snowfalls.
