What visitors say about the resort

Borovets is valued for its proximity to Sofia, about an hour away, and its prices. The resort is often called the most affordable way to start skiing in Europe. Visitors praise the pine forest around the pistes and the Yastrebets run, with its respectable vertical drop.

Criticism focuses on the infrastructure: some lifts are outdated, queues for the gondola are long in peak season, and the resort village is described as built-up and noisy. Warm weather and a lack of snow at lower elevations in some years are also frequent concerns.
