This is Bulgaria's highest resort, on Vitosha mountain overlooking Sofia (София). Accommodation in the city is cheaper than on the slopes. If you want to stay in this charming city, a gondola can take you to the slopes directly from the Simeonovo suburb. It is an ideal resort for beginners. The resort has an excellent ski school with 40 instructors who speak many languages and have the most teaching experience in Bulgaria. Vitosha/Aleko - Sofia has 3 main lift areas. However, each area requires a separate pass.

Besides ski pistes, Vitosha/Aleko - Sofia offers many hiking routes, most of which are also accessible in winter. One of the most popular is a trail that starts at Aleko chalet, crosses the plateau and ends at Zlatnogo Mostovogo. The most popular hiking trails are marked with iron posts, which can be seen even in winter. There are rest areas and chalets along the trails. Vitosha/Aleko - Sofia is easy to reach by car or bus from Sofia (София), with several public transport routes serving different parts of the mountain.
