What visitors say about the resort

Espot is praised as a calm family station: roughly half the runs are green or blue, there are learning areas and a welcoming ski school. It is not written off as dull either - the reds La Pala d'Eixe and La Rampa and the black La Tres give confident skiers something to work with, and there is side country nearby. Visitors like the round restaurant at two thousand metres, the low day pass and the Aiguestortes national park next door.

Size and snow reliability draw criticism: there are not many runs, and the snow is considered less dependable than at neighbouring Baqueira, with snowmaking covering two thirds of the terrain. At weekends the place runs at capacity, with essentially one main chairlift feeding everyone, so queues and congestion become normal. The access road is narrow, the car park fills early with cars along the verges, and in strong wind the station can shut by midday.
