The praise is for how little the place has been built over: chalets scattered through fir forest instead of concrete, and an open plateau looking out along the whole Pyrenean chain. Reviewers note that the Prat Mataou, Guzet and Freychet sectors each ski differently, so beginners and freeriders both find something. When snow is good they single out easy, low-risk off-piste and a snowpark that keeps improving. Queues are called rare, prices reasonable, staff and local shopkeepers genuinely welcoming.

The lift fleet draws criticism: visitors call it old-school and say the resort is ageing badly, and on busy days the old machines still build lines. The bigger issue is altitude - cover comes and goes, and runs sit closed in lean spells. The link through the lower Prat sector is flagged as a weak point. There is no real village and essentially no apres-ski.
