This ski resort is partly located on a glacier and stretches across three mountain slopes (Argentière, Lognan and La Coulon). The resort offers skiing on both groomed pistes and freeride terrain. It is valued by skiers and snowboarders worldwide for its long runs.

Les Grands Montets mainly has difficult and intermediate slopes. Above the Lognan mid-station, the pistes descend across wide, treeless slopes and sometimes glaciers towards the valley. The valley run to Argentière passes through woodland to the base station. There are also easy pistes around the Lognan mid-station. There is also terrain above the trail for freeriding. Experienced skiers will find what they are looking for there.

A modern 10-person Plan Joran gondola was installed for the 2014/2015 season. It quickly carries guests from the base to the ski resort. The aerial tramway also runs from the base to the summit in two sections via the Lognan mid-station. However, the next lift is usually a long wait. You can avoid the wait by buying a reservation card. You must then be present for boarding at the time shown on the card. The ski resort itself has a 15-person aerial tramway, as well as chairlifts. The 6-person Herse chairlift is relatively modern, but the other lifts are quite old.
