What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for the guiding and the price: guides are called professional and safety-minded, and a day costs roughly half what British Columbia operators charge. The terrain is pitched at experts - steeps, tree lines rated among the best in the States, and plenty of cliff bands to drop. Hot lunch is served in a heated yurt, and Whitefish is twenty minutes away. Even in dry spells the guides are said to farm the terrain well enough to find fresh tracks.
Essentially the only criticism is the dependence on fresh snow. Without it the lower terrain is reported to turn crusty, bumped up and tight in the runouts. The good skiing starts high, and reaching it means a long snowcat ride along a single cut track deep into the backcountry, which eats a sizeable part of the day. The format assumes confident backcountry skiers - anyone used only to groomed pistes will struggle.
