Silver Mountain

The gondola out of Kellogg, the longest in North America, gets most of the praise: the ride takes around fifteen minutes and the views on the way up are an attraction in themselves. Families like having an indoor water park and tubing next door. The runs are long and cover every level, and with no experts-only lift a mixed group can split up and regroup at the bottom. Lines are usually short and the value is called among the best in the region.

The gondola being the only way up is the main gripe, and weekend queues build there. The chairlifts are old and slow, with Chair 4 taking the brunt of it. Staff at rental and the ticket windows come in for complaints, while prices are judged too high for what is on offer. Kellogg sits low, so snow does not hold at the base, and even in a good winter the base depth rarely tops a metre and a half.
