What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for empty lifts: even at weekends there is no wait, and on holidays the queue rarely passes ten minutes. The mountain skis big, with the Outback side larger than the front and holding the longest vertical, plenty of steeps, trees and untracked snow after a storm. Reviewers also like the modern, easy-to-read lift network, a real base village with hotels and restaurants, and the views over Lake Pend Oreille.
The near-absence of green runs draws criticism: beginners get a tiny slope below the village served by a single lift. Visibility is the other constant complaint, since the lake below leaves the mountain fogged in, and a forecast of fair visibility can mean a few metres in practice. On-mountain food is thin, the summit restaurant The Nest is called overpriced, the access road is punishing in heavy snow, and prices have risen since the change of owner.
