Kolašin is the largest and most modern resort in Montenegro, spread across the Bjelasica massif above the town of the same name. The first stage, then called Jezerine, opened in 1991; in 2019 an entirely new area, Kolašin 1600, was built alongside, and in 2021/22 the two were joined by a six-seat chair and connecting runs. The skiing now reaches above two thousand metres, making the snow more dependable than it used to be. All around lies Biogradska Gora National Park, with one of the last primeval forests in Europe.

Value comes first in reviews: a single pass covering both 1450 and 1600 runs around 40 euros, fair for a developing destination. At 1450 they note tidy nursery slopes and modern high-speed lifts with safety systems, a workable base for families and beginners. The terrain is not only gentle - reviews mention respectable reds and blacks. The biggest draw is emptiness: near-deserted slopes, and in March almost nobody at all, on varied and well-groomed pistes.
Criticism lands on everything around the skiing. The road up from Kolašin is full of holes. Lifts run only between 9:30 and 16:00, which frustrates visitors. Parking is poor at both bases, and of 1450 people write that there is effectively none. There is still nowhere to stay at the foot of the slopes, since it is all a building site. Hotels and restaurants are few: coffee bars are plentiful, but guests found no other entertainment.
