Ski resorts in Dinaric Alps
The Dinaric Alps stretch along the Adriatic from Slovenia to Albania, covering Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia. The sea is nearby, bringing moist air in winter, so snowfall is heavier than you might expect at these elevations.
The region's largest resort is the Serbian Kopaonik, with around 50 km of pistes. In Bosnia, skiers head to Jahorina and Bjelašnica- both mountains hosted events at the 1984 Olympics - while in Montenegro, Kolašin operates an hour's drive from Podgorica.
