Views and price carry the praise. The Durmitor panorama from the upper station is called second to none in the country, and a twenty-minute walk from the top of the lift reaches the summit. Lift tickets and rental cost very little, the lower chair climbs gently on padded seats for about twenty minutes, and a mid-station lets beginners step off early and ski easy runs back to the valley. Midwinter brings dry snow and rewarding off-piste lines.

The state of the infrastructure is what gets criticised. The chairlifts are old, dating from Yugoslav times, they run slowly and leave some guests feeling unsafe, and the upper section is markedly steeper. Late in the season visitors found only two of the four lifts turning, and wind on the upper mountain regularly stops the cable car. There is essentially one properly prepared descent, with the rest described as uneven and treacherous.
