What visitors say about the resort

The praise is for price and for snow. Reviewers say food, beds and lift passes cost next to nothing by European standards, and that the mountain holds more snow, and holds it longer, than anywhere else in the country. The off-piste is the real draw: wide open faces and couloirs, ski touring and snowcat skiing. Experienced visitors give the freeride terrain their highest marks and single out the vertical.

Infrastructure and management are what guests attack. The lifts are obsolete, effectively only one is modern, and the cableway to the upper mountain runs at weekends only, and not reliably even then. The pistes are poorly linked, so skiers end up walking between sectors, and grooming is infrequent. Sunday queues can ruin the day. Recurring complaints cover toilets with no paper or hot water, litter on the slopes and staff indifference.
