What visitors say about the resort
Calm is what visitors value most: Kristberg is sold as a mountain for unhurried skiing, and the slopes really are uncrowded. Grooming has earned its own award, the machinery has been overhauled, and snowmaking settles any doubt about cover. Parents like the pricing: on the family ticket only the first child pays and the rest ski free, with the same rule for grandparents with grandchildren. The free children's area, easy parking and the panoramic cross-country loop count in its favour too.
The tiny scale is the sticking point. Skiing rests on one cable car, a couple of drag lifts and a carpet, there are very few pistes, and a strong skier will be bored - the lift company says so itself and sends such guests to other Montafon areas. There is no link to the neighbouring areas, and the ski route down to Silbertal opens only when the snow is deep enough.
