Silvretta Montafon was assembled in 2009 from two formerly separate areas - Hochjoch above Schruns and Nova above Gaschurn. It is the largest resort in Vorarlberg, with a serious vertical: from seven hundred metres in the valley to 2,430 at the top. That gives its signature run, the Hochjoch Totale, twelve kilometres of continuous descent all the way to Schruns. The area hosts Snowboard Cross World Cup rounds, and opens and closes its season with concerts.
