What visitors say about the resort
Megève is praised for its atmosphere: a genuine Savoyard village with cobbled streets, horse-drawn carriages and some of the best restaurants in the French Alps. The skiing is gentle and wooded, with views of Mont Blanc - people come here for relaxation rather than sport.
It is criticised for its elevation: the base is at 1100 m, and in warm winters the resort relies on snow cannons. Prices are the other drawback: both accommodation and restaurants are noticeably more expensive than average. Confident skiers will find little challenging terrain.
