Nax is a ski resort in the Valais region (Switzerland). Gentle runs predominate, so the resort suits beginners and families with children.

The ski area rises from 1,507 to 2,640 m, with a vertical drop of 1,133 m. This vertical drop allows you to ski from top to bottom without changing lifts and noticeably changes the conditions during the descent. The upper pistes are high, so snow lasts longer than on nearby lower slopes. The season usually runs from 19 December to 29 March.

What visitors say about the resort
Sunshine and views draw the praise. Nax is reckoned one of the sunniest villages in the Valais, and its balcony position opens a panorama over the central part of the canton. Wide, well groomed pistes and the quality of the natural snow also get compliments. For a station this small the lift fleet is relatively recent, with several chairlifts plus a drag lift, and inclusion in the Magic Pass makes it unusually good value. Guests highlight the gentle prices and the lack of queues.
Total dependence on the weather draws criticism. Snowmaking covers only the bottom of the mountain, roughly two per cent of the domain, so the season rests entirely on natural snowfall and in lean winters the area stands idle for long stretches. Expanding the system was studied but judged unaffordable. The run mix is the other issue: most of the kilometrage is red and there is little easy terrain for first turns.
