Vercorin is a ski resort in the Valais region (Switzerland). Most of the skiing is on intermediate runs - a profile that suits most skiers.

The ski area rises from 1,330 to 2,336 m, with a vertical drop of 1,006 m. This vertical drop makes it possible to ski from top to bottom without changing lifts and noticeably changes conditions during the descent. The season usually runs from November 28 to April 11.

What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for the ride up and the outlook: a cable car from Chalais, then a gondola, and within about half an hour you are at Crêt du Midi near 2,330 metres. The upper slopes face north so the snow holds through the winter. Pistes are mainly wide blues and reds, with separate beginner zones and a freestyle park. Stronger skiers pick out the long Tracuit tow and the black run of the same name, roughly 1,300 metres with pitches up to 45 per cent.
Two things draw criticism. The first is the snow reporting: skiers say the published figures bear no relation to what is on the ground, one review calling the bulletin outright fake news, another noting about thirty centimetres at the bottom and no more than fifty at the top, poorly groomed at that. The second is the reliability of the ropeway, which regulars describe as no longer dependable and very often out of service.
