What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for snow and sheer space: the terrain is big enough that untracked lines survive for days after a storm, and because ticket sales are capped there are no crowds even at weekends. Passes cost noticeably less than at the marquee resorts of Utah and Colorado, and the atmosphere is relaxed and local. For a week based around Salt Lake City, reviewers call Pow Mow an essential stop purely for the snow and the acreage.
Infrastructure and ownership policy draw criticism. Most of the chairs are old and slow, the vertical is modest, and the terrain leans towards beginners and intermediates rather than experts. There are no restaurants and no nightlife on the mountain, and nothing resembling a resort village. Newer complaints are more pointed: parking is now charged for, and the Mary's and Village lifts have been closed to the general public and reserved for property owners.
