What visitors say about the resort
The praise is for the family formula: the resort is built for beginners, small children and anyone who wants to ski at an easy pace. The weekly pass covering several Champsaur resorts is considered good value, and the local ESF school attracts almost no complaints. A north-facing aspect holds the snow through the winter and the pistes are carefully groomed. The village itself is liked for its traditional look, with no high-rise residences or nightclubs, and midweek it stays quiet.
The lifts take the criticism: reviewers call them old and indifferently maintained, and during school holidays long lines build up, wiping out the empty-slopes advantage. The flip side of the north-facing aspect is light - January brings little sun onto the runs and the cold is noticeable. The area is small and offers no thrills; confident skiers say outright that they get bored here.
