What visitors say about the resort
What earns White Pass its reputation is the near absence of queues: even on the busiest days the longest wait runs ten to fifteen minutes, and midweek there is none at all. The lift layout opens up far more of the hill than the trail map suggests, with tree runs and traverses between the chairs. The snow is rated among the best in Washington, the Mount Rainier views are an argument in themselves, and the staff draw constant praise.
Price is the sticking point: plenty of visitors feel the mountain gives too little for the money. Parking is the other sore subject - spaces are limited and a lift ticket does not guarantee one, and anyone parking along the road in heavy snow is advised to carry a shovel or risk being plowed in. The location is remote, slopeside lodging is scarce, dining and apres-ski are thin, and genuinely difficult terrain is limited.
