The Wildkogel rises between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Hohe Tauern National Park, with two ways in, from Neukirchen and from Bramberg. The summit looks across at the Grossvenediger and the glaciers of the main chain. The skiing is almost entirely easy and intermediate, and the area remains quiet by Austrian standards. Its best-known feature is not downhill at all: a toboggan run descends fourteen kilometres from the Wildkogel to Bramberg - the longest floodlit run in the world, open until nine at night.

The praise is for the toboggan run: fourteen kilometres down from the Wildkogel, floodlit end to end - the longest of its kind in the world, with 1,300 metres of descent and a bar halfway. The skiing is bigger than expected too: wide, well-kept pistes, lifts enough, plenty of huts and moderate prices.
The criticism is that the area is built for beginners and intermediates, with little that is hard for strong skiers. The toboggan run itself takes effort: the descent runs about forty-five minutes and works the back and arms.
