Worth knowing

A lift ride takes 7 to 10 minutes from the valley towns of Mörel, Bettmer Talstation (base station) or Fiesch to the car-free resort villages of Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp. The valley towns are easy to reach by car or train. The car-free villages are located on a high plateau, and accommodation offers direct access to the slopes for skiing.

This winter sports resort is surrounded by beautiful scenery. You can reach the Moosfluh, Bettmerhorn and Eggishorn viewpoints on skis. They offer spectacular views of the Great Aletsch Glacier, as well as the beautiful 4000 m peaks of Valais. The Aletsch Glacier and Aletsch Arena ski resort are located in the heart of Jungfrau-Aletsch in the Swiss Alps, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In crystal-clear mountain air, with snow crunching underfoot and sunshine from morning until evening, everyday worries and stress remain in the valley. Peace, relaxation, fun and physical activity are the priorities at Aletsch Arena. The Aletsch Arena ski resort is also ideal for families, with car-free villages and children's play areas.

What visitors say about the resort

Aletsch Arena is praised for its views of the Aletsch Glacier, the longest in the Alps and a UNESCO site. Visitors note that the villages are car-free, the sun shines almost constantly, and the pistes are wide and quiet.

Criticisms include the fact that the only way up is by gondola, which is inconvenient with luggage. There is also little challenging terrain, as the ski area is aimed at intermediate skiers. Visitors also complain about restaurant prices and the quiet evenings in the villages.
