First - Grindelwald

Northeast of Grindelwald, the First ski area merges into the slopes of Schreckhorn. It also offers stunning views of the world-famous north face of the Eiger. As an alternative to skiing, the winter sports resort has an exciting snowpark designed to meet a range of needs, from beginners to professionals. First Flyer, First Glider, First Cliff Walk and long toboggan runs provide further variety, along with scenic winter hiking trails through high-altitude Alpine landscapes.

Worth knowing

First ski resort has varied, sunny slopes of all difficulty levels. Most of the slopes are located above the treeline in high-altitude terrain. Only the valley runs are below the treeline. The slopes are mainly easy. There are also intermediate pistes and some difficult runs. Views of the Eiger and Wetterhorn accompany you throughout the day.

A ski route leads from Bort to Grindelwald.

58 snow cannons cover 45% of the slopes.

There is a descent into the valley from the slopes. The valley run ends a little outside Grindelwald. A ski bus takes you to the base station of the Firstbahn lift. Only the ski route from Bort ends directly at the base station.

Longest run

The longest descent here is No. 10 Gemsberg and No. 23 Stepfi, 6 km long with a vertical drop of 1209 m.

Night skiing

Night skiing is available at the resort.

From Grindelwald, a six-person gondola lift consisting of three sections takes you comfortably and without transfers to the first slope at an altitude of 2168 m. At the ski resort itself, fast four-person chairlifts provide access to almost all slopes. There are also two T-bars at the ski resort and two platter lifts in the valley in the Bodmi training area. A magic carpet is available for beginners.
