Diavolezza/Lagalb ski resort is a paradise for professionals and fans of sporty recreation: there are no easy pistes here. Instead, you will find a ski resort starting at an altitude of over 2000 m. Around the Morteratsch Glacier, you can ski and snowboard until May. The Diavolezza/Lagalb winter sports area is located directly on the Bernina railway line, near Pontresina. The resort has steep slopes and rolling landscapes, offering amazing views of Lago Bianco, Val Poschiavo and farther south into Valtellina. One of the highlights of the ski resort is the off-piste freeride run to La Rösa in Val Poschiavo. If you prefer skiing on marked slopes, you can ski piste 22 Minor - with a gradient of 86%, it is the steepest slope in Graubünden / Grisons. To the west, Diavolezza offers another impressive run, skiing at the highest level in the literal sense: the 10 km ski route to Morteratsch, which takes a good 45 minutes, is the longest secured glacier descent in Switzerland. At the end, you will find the Morteratsch restaurant, an ideal place to replenish your energy with excellent snacks.

Good to know

The ski resort is a paradise for professionals and fans of sporty recreation. There are no easy slopes here. The only exception is a short training run. The two ski mountains, Diavolezza (“devil”) and Lagalb (“White Lake”), have long slopes and plenty of freeride routes. If you like intermediate and difficult pistes covering more than 800 vertical metres, or want to ski 10 km across the Morteratsch Glacier, this is the ideal resort for you. The glacier run is the longest of its kind in Switzerland and an absolute highlight. Against the backdrop of the impressive Piz Bernina (4049 m) and Piz Palü (3900 m), it covers 10 km through a snowy and icy wilderness. Another special experience is skiing by moonlight on Diavolezza. The Lagalb and Diavolezza ski mountains are connected by pistes only in the direction of Lagalb. A ski bus provides the connection in the opposite direction.

The most difficult run is Minor, 2 km long, with a vertical drop of 650 m. With a gradient of 86%, the slope is the steepest in Graubünden / Grisons.

The ski resort has two ski mountains with two long cable cars. One lift ascends to Diavolezza, overcoming a vertical drop of almost 900 m. The second ascends to Lagalb, covering 800 vertical metres. The Diavolezza mountain station also has a high-speed detachable four-seater chairlift with covers. There is a training lift at the Diavolezza base station. Lagalb and Diavolezza are connected by pistes only in the direction of Lagalb. A ski bus runs from Lagalb to Diavolezza. The Rhätische Bahn train then takes you from Morteratsch to Bernina-Diavolezza and Bernina-Lagalb, and therefore to the base stations of the cable cars.
