Schilthorn - Mürren/Lauterbrunnen

The views and the character of the place carry the praise. Mürren has no cars and no heavy development, and guests put the quiet first. The second reason to come is the Inferno: nearly sixteen kilometres and two thousand metres of vertical down to Lauterbrunnen, described as a proper test for a solid intermediate. Freeriders single out two big bowls that hardly anyone bothers with, so the powder keeps. The new cable car from Stechelberg runs frequently, so getting up to the village is no longer an ordeal.

Size and the older lifts inside the ski area are the sore points. A strong skier works through the terrain in three or four days, and there is no large interconnected network here. Some lifts are dated, which means standing around. Queues for the cable cars up to the Schilthorn form regularly. There is no ski run down to Stechelberg, and parking is charged.
