The Hafjell ski resort, opened in 1988 for the Lillehammer Olympic Games (1994), is 15 km from Lillehammer and 200 km from Oslo.
The upper section focuses on easier slopes. In addition to the easy slopes at the top, there are also intermediate and difficult pistes, including the Olympic slope. The convenient Hafjell gondola (with an intermediate station), along with the high-speed Hafjellheis I and II chairlifts, ascends from the base and provides access to most of the ski resort. The resort has a relatively large number of lifts.
