Horní Domky - Rokytnice nad Jizerou

Horní Domky is the main and highest sector of Rokytnice nad Jizerou, the largest resort in the western Giant Mountains. Skiing takes place on the southern slope of Lysa Gora, from 657 m in the upper part of town to 1,315 m on the ridge. Its 658 m vertical drop is one of the largest in Czechia.

The slopes here are unusually wide, reaching up to 100 m in places. This is rare in the Czech Giant Mountains, where skiing usually follows forest clearings. The upper section consists of open, treeless fields below the ridge, while the lower section has forest runs down to the town.

Worth knowing

Two four-seat chairlifts lead to the top. The 2,117 m Lysa Gora chairlift is the second-longest lift in Czechia; the other, Horní Domky, has operated since 2006. Six more drag lifts serve the intermediate and beginner slopes. Total lift capacity is 7,620 people per hour.

The snowmaking system covers around 90% of the pistes, so the season runs from December to March regardless of the weather.

The resort's second sector, Studenov, lies on the other side of town and is included in the same lift pass. There is no direct ski connection between the sectors; a ski bus runs between them.

Longest run

The longest descent follows the Lysa Gora lift for about 3.5 km, with a 658 m vertical drop from the ridge to the bottom of town.

Snowparks

A snowpark with jumps and features is served by a separate short drag lift (A8). According to the resort's official website.

Features

In summer, the chairlift operates for hikers and cyclists. Routes along the Giant Mountains ridge start from the top.

Since 2023, the resort has been part of the Nahoru Resort network.

Night skiing

There is no night skiing in the Horní Domky sector.
