1 / 7Les 3 Vallées ski resort in Tarentaise, France (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Savoie Mont Blanc, Savoie, Albertville).
Trail information
The Les 3 Vallées ski resort links the valleys of Courchevel, Méribel and Vallée des Belleville with Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Les Menuires and Val Thorens, forming one of the largest linked ski areas in the world. The different valleys also offer varied landscapes, from high-altitude Alpine terrain with cliffs and the Alma meadows to slopes through forests. There is also off-piste terrain between the slopes.
Worth knowing
The choice of ski slopes is practically unlimited. The ski resort also has slopes of every difficulty level. Most slopes are very long. Because the valleys have different characteristics, you can enjoy varied scenery - La Vallée des Belleville, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, Les Menuires and Val Thorens have few trees but are very open and sunny, while the Méribel valley is considered the best, although it has many trees. The Courchevel valley also has plenty of trees, but its upper section offers more open terrain.

What visitors say about the resort
Criticism focuses on prices and weather. Courchevel is considered expensive even by French standards, while Val Thorens is described as exposed to the wind: above the tree line, visibility can disappear completely in bad weather. Reviewers also complain about the architecture of the high-altitude stations, with "concrete instead of a village" a frequent refrain. Les Menuires is described in reviews as a good-value compromise.
