Next comes slope preparation, for which the resort has repeatedly been singled out in industry ratings, with descents described as long and enjoyable, including the lengthy run to the valley. Visitors value the dependable snow, the sunny days and the rustic huts with serious cooking at fair prices.

Criticism is scarce, partly because the reviews themselves are few. The main reservation is location: the Ultental is a quiet side valley, the drive is long, and there is little here for anyone wanting big-resort infrastructure. The area is compact and can be covered in a couple of days, with essentially no apres-ski or evening entertainment. Its terrain suits confident intermediate and strong skiers more than those hunting variety.
